Andrea Pozza 
 
Diplomato al Conservatorio N. Paganini di Genova, si dedica alla carriera jazzistica da più di 25 anni.

Tra i suoi ispiratori troviamo Teddy Wilson, Bud Powell, Bill Evans, Winton Kelly, McCoy Tyner, Paul Bley.

Ha avuto l' occasione di esibirsi con grandi musicisti come Harry "Sweet" Edison, Bobby Durham, Chet Baker, Al Grey, Charlie Mariano, Phil Woods, George Coleman, Scott Hamilton, Massimo Urbani, Larry Nocella, Lee Konitz, Luciano Milanese, con il quale collabora da più di 25 anni.

Ha inciso quattro cd in trio a suo nome: “Introducing” per la “Philology”, “Plays Ellington, Monk and Himself “per la “GoFour”, “Love Walked In” per l' inglese “33Records” e “Drop This Thing” per la “Dejavu Records”.

Ha fatto parte del Quintetto di Enrico Rava (insieme a Roberto Gatto, Rosario Bonaccorso e Gianluca Petrella)dal 2004 al 2008 col quale ha inciso per la ECM “The Words And The Days” (uscito nel 2007) e si è esibito in alcuni dei più importanti festivals e concert halls in Inghilterra, Francia, Germania, Spagna, Portogallo, USA, Canada, Brasile, Argentina, Giappone. Col Quintetto ha anche avuto occasione di suonare con ospiti del calibro di Roswell Rudd e Pat Metheny.

Ha collaborato stabilmente con Sal Nistico, ha fatto parte del quartetto di Steve Grossman, con il quale ha suonato a Londra, Parigi ed in importanti festivals internazionali negli anni 90' e col quale collabora tutt'ora.

Ha collaborato stabilmente con Gianni Basso per più di 20 anni col quale ha inciso numerosi cd, tra i quali particolarmente significativo quello interamente dedicato alla musica di Billy Strayhorn.

Altre significative collaborazioni sono quelle con Bob Sheppard, Ferenc Nemeth, Antony Pinciotti, Javier Vercher, Francisco Mela, Bob Bonisolo, Tullio DePiscopo, Alan Farrington, Dado Moroni, Bruno Marini, Carlo Atti, Piero Odorici.

Andrea Pozza has been an important figure in the international jazz scene
for more than 20 years.
A graduate of the Nicoló Pagannini Conservatory in his home town of
Genoa, Italy, he has appeared on stage with legendary musicians like Harry
“Sweets” Edison, Bobby Durham, Chet Baker, Al Grey, George Coleman,
Sal Nistico, Scott Hamillton, Lee Konitz, Massimo Urbani and Larry
Nocella.
Pozza’s original sound has been inspired by many master jazz pianists
including Teddy Wilson, Bud Powell, Bill Evans, Winton Kelly and McCoy
Tyner.
From 2004-2008, Pozza was a member of the Enrico Rava quintet, with
whom he recorded The Words and Days (2007) for the ECM Label. This
quintet performed at prestigious Jazz Festivals and Concert Halls in France,
England, Germany, Spain Portugal, USA, Canada, Brasil, Argentina Japan
and hosted important guest like Roswell Rudd and Pat Metheny.
Now playing in the Rosario Bonaccorso quartet, Pozza will be featured on
the soon to be released album Appunti di Viaggi produced by Auditorium of
Roma.
As a member of various groups led by Steve Grossman, Pozza performed in
London, Paris, and important Jazz Festivals around the world.
He was a permanent member of the Gianni Basso quartet (since 1982)with
whom he has recorded many CDs among them a highly acclaimed album
dedicated to the music of Billy Strayhorn .
He is also teaching Piano Jazz at the G.Verdi Conservatory in Milan and in
others Jazz Schools.
As a leader, Pozza has recorded 4 CDs with his trio:
“Introducing” for Philology Records, "PlaysEllington, Monk, and
Himself" for Gofour Records, "Love Walked In" for the English 33Records
and “Drop this Thing” for Dejavu Records.
His last cd is “Enter Eyes” voice and piano with Andrea Celeste.
He is a regular collaborator with Bob Bonisolo, Tulio DePiscopo, Alan
Farrington, Dado Moroni, Bruno Marini, Carlo Atti, Piero Odorici .
