Alberto Gurrisi 


 
Born in Milan (Italy) in 1984.
He started studying classical piano at the age of eight. In 1998 he meets jazz, studying piano with F.Bernasconi and harmony with master Filippo Daccò. From 2003 to 2007 studied jazz piano with P.Birro and M.Rusca at "Civici Corsi di Jazz di Milano", growing up in Milan musical scene.
From 2003 he studies jazz organ on his own, meeting also some of the greatest american jazz organists like Joey deFrancesco, Sam Yahel, Larry Goldings, Tony Monaco.
In a few years he starts working with some great musicians in Italy, including the great guitar player Franco Cerri (from 2007 until now) and the american harmonica player Sugar Blue (2006-7).
From 2003 he works on many musical projects with the guitar player Alessandro Usai. 'Spare Time Trio' (from 2004) and 'Alex Usai Blues Band' (from 2009) played in many italian clubs and festivals and produced three albums.
In 2011 he moves to Torino. He met many musicians and started working with his own band including Gianni Denitto (alto sax), Humberto Amesquita (trombone) and Alessandro Minetto (drums). He's now working as sideman of musicians all over Italy.
He also had the opportunity to play with Joe Cohn, Adam Nussbaum, Jim Mullen, Darryl Jones, Torino Jazz Orchestra plus Carla Bley-Steve Swallow-Andy Sheppard, Doug Webb, Rob Sudduth, Enrico Rava, Max Ionata, Mauro Negri, Emanuele Cisi, Massimo Manzi, Alfredo Ferrario, Enzo Zirilli, Alessio Menconi, Luigi Tessarollo, Dino Piana, Gianni Sanjust, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Emilio Soana, Paolo Tomelleri, Tony Arco, Paolo Pellegatti and many other italian musicians.
